City of Ames recently issued the following announcement.

Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and most City of Ames offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23 and 24. Most City of Ames offices will also be closed Friday, Dec. 31, in observance of New Year’s Day.

The Community Center and Weight Room will be closed Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. The facility will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31.

Ames Municipal Pool will be closed Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Friday and Saturday, Dec. 31, and Jan. 1, 2022. The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be open for public skating from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24, and closed Saturday, Dec. 25. Public skating will be offered from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, and closed Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. The Ames Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31. For more information, visit www.amespubliclibrary.org

CyRide will operate fewer trips during the Iowa State University semester break from Dec. 18 through Jan. 16, 2022. This means shaded trips and routes noted on CyRide’s schedule, along with Moonlight Express, will not operate during this time. In addition, there will be no CyRide service Saturday, Dec. 25, or Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. Passengers are encouraged to consult CyRide’s break schedules at www.cyride.com for the most current information.

Resource Recovery Plant administrative offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Dec. 23 and 24, and Friday, Dec. 31. The tipping floor will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, from 6 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 24, and from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31. The tipping floor will be closed Saturday, Dec. 25, and Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.
