Reconstruction of North Dakota Avenue from Ontario Street to Castlewood Place will begin Monday, Aug. 29, weather permitting. This reconstruction project will address existing pavement deficiencies, utility repair, and necessary improvements to pedestrian facilities that do not meet the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The City has contracted with Con-Struct Inc. to complete this project, which will begin with pavement removal, followed by work on underground improvements. This will require the closure of North Dakota Avenue from Ontario Street to Castlewood Place. Sidewalks will also be closed. Pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

This stage of the project is expected to take one to two weeks to complete. Future stages of the project will include reconstruction of North Dakota Avenue from Castlewood Place to the Union Pacific railroad tracks.

All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
