Iowa State University’s wrestling team advanced five athletes to the finals at the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas after a strong performance in Saturday’s semifinal round. The Cyclones finished the session with five wrestlers reaching the championship matches and three more set to compete for third place.

The finalists from Iowa State are Evan Frost (133 pounds), Anthony Echemendia (141), Vinny Zerban (157), Rocky Elam (197), and Yonger Bastida (285). Stevo Poulin (125), Jacob Frost (149), and Aiden Riggins (165) will vie for third-place honors in their respective weight classes.

Zerban and Elam each secured victories over top-10 ranked opponents during their semifinal bouts. Riggins won both of his matches on Saturday, advancing through the consolation bracket to earn a spot in the third-place match. Isaac Dean concluded his tournament run by finishing fifth at 184 pounds.

Iowa State currently leads the team standings with 164.5 points, well ahead of Michigan and Stanford, who are tied for second with 92.5 points each.

The final and third-place matches will be streamed live on FloWrestling at 5 p.m. Central Time.

Coach Kevin Dresser’s squad saw several notable performances throughout the tournament, including dominant technical falls and major decisions by multiple wrestlers across different rounds. Despite some setbacks—such as MJ Gaitan not placing after an early loss—the Cyclones demonstrated depth across weight classes.
