The Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commission (MRPC) is scheduled to convene on June 9 at the Motor Mill Museum in Elkader. The meeting will begin with roll call and introductions at 10 a.m., followed by the approval of minutes from the April 28 meeting.
The agenda includes budget discussions, where expense reports and additional radio ads will be reviewed and approved. Bids for Passports will also be considered. At 11:30 a.m., there will be a review of the guidance document, and at 11:45 a.m., the use of logo requests will be discussed and approved.
After a lunch break at noon, the meeting will resume at 1 p.m. with a chair report that includes discussions on appointments, visits with the Governor, and a tentative list of attendees for the September Annual Meeting. Elections for officers for the IA MRPC National Committee appointments and reports are also planned.
The agenda further includes committee reports on marketing, transportation, environment, recreation and agriculture, culture, and heritage. The meeting is expected to conclude with scheduling future meetings before adjourning at 4 p.m.
Following this meeting, the Iowa Mississippi River Parkway Commission Inc., a tax-exempt fundraising organization, will meet at the same location.

Members appointed by the governor represent each of Iowa’s ten counties bordering the Mississippi River: Allamakee, Clayton, Dubuque, Jackson, Clinton, Scott, Muscatine, Louisa, Des Moines, and Lee counties. Ex officio members come from various state departments including Transportation and Natural Resources.
