The Iowa State Cyclones concluded their weekend competitions at the US Open in Austin and the Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis on Saturday. The team saw notable performances from both swimmers and divers across the two events.
In Austin, Anja Peck advanced to the finals of the 200 breaststroke after recording a time of 2:35.10 in the preliminaries, placing her 15th overall. Grace Swoboda finished just behind with a time of 2:36.23, earning an 18th-place finish and securing a reserve position for the finals.
At the Minnesota Invitational, Kate Mitchell led Iowa State’s divers with a fifth-place finish in platform diving, scoring 219.65 points. She was joined by teammates Jade Hazes (seventh place, 205.05), Maggie Bendell (ninth place, 202.35), Ally Blumenfeld (10th place, 202.20), Abby Tollefson (12th place, 196.05), Grace Marek (16th place, 186.10), Iona Moffat (17th place, 162.05), and Annie McCann (18th place, 154.30). Four Cyclone divers placed within the top ten.
Iowa State will next compete on January 10 with a road meet against UNI in Cedar Falls.
