Ridgewood Avenue between Sixth and Ninth streets will be closed to through traffic beginning Thursday, June 8, to begin work on underground utilities improvements. Access will be allowed for residents only. Sidewalks will be open.

The City of Ames has contracted with Shekar Engineering for this project, which is expected to take two to three days to complete.

Motorists are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time to detour around the work zone. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling near construction zones. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
