The City of Ames is currently finalizing plans to reconstruct 13th Street between Wilson and Duff avenues. Planned improvements include new concrete street pavement, storm sewer improvements, water main replacement, and ADA sidewalk improvements. Construction is anticipated to begin in late summer or fall 2020 and be completed in late fall 2021. This project will be paid for entirely with City funds.
The project will be completed in four phases, and it will accommodate required emergency vehicle access to and from Ames Fire Station No. 1 at 1300 Burnett Ave. Whenever possible, at least one lane in each direction will remain open to traffic, but side street access will be restricted.
