City buildings in Ames reopened on July 1, but safety precautions will still be taken inside these buildings, according to a press release from the city.
Some buildings opening to the public are the Ames Public Library, utility buildings and other city buildings. All city buildings will require people to wear masks inside and will be limited to a certain amount of time in the building. Social distancing will also be enforced.
"The City of Ames is committed to continuing to provide essential City services (including utilities, public works, public safety) to its residents. In order to do so, City staff exposure to the virus in City workplaces is being minimized. Additionally, maintaining a safe environment for citizens remains a priority," according to the press release.
