Ames City Council will discuss seven proposals for low-income rental housing at its Oct. 27 meeting. | Pixabay
The City of Ames will review seven proposals for the construction of low-income rental housing at 321 State Avenue at its Tuesday, Oct. 27 city council meeting.
Proposals were to meet the requirements of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit project which provide family-based affordable housing, create 15-50 housing units, feature compatible design elements with the surrounding residential homes and develop a competitive project per the Iowa Finance Authority’s (IFA) scoring system.
Organizations that submitted proposals are MVAH Partners, Prairie Fire Development Corporation, Newbury Living, Hatch Development, Sand Companies, The Commonwealth Companies and Excel Development. The City's Planning and Housing Department has made all seven proposals available for public review at www.CityOfAmes.org/Housing. The proposals include a staff analysis and recommendations.
