Training for Protecting the Workforce from COVID-19
Iowa State University is offering a four-module program for preparing employees, supervisors, and owners of manufacturing and construction companies for planning, preparing, and responding to COVID-19 in the workplace. The webinar will be offered every Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM from January – September 2021. The program includes ten cycles of the four webinars. The curriculum consists of four, 1-hour long, webinars as follows:
MODULE1: Employees in the pandemic era.
» What is COVID-19 (including chain infection)
» Health etiquette and self-monitoring
» High risk employees and household members
MODULE 2: Personal hygiene and preparing the facility.
» Handwashing and sanitizing
» Facility cleaning and disinfection
» Shared use vehicles
» Preparing common use spaces for proper physical distancing.
MODULE 3: PPE and training.
» Types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
» Training employees, supervisors, and custodian crews on safe operations in environments with potential COVID-19 threat.
MODULE 4: Supervisory response, communication strategy/policy.
» Expectations of supervisory functions for positive COVID-19 employees in the workplace
» When COVID-19 positive and non-COVID-19 positive employees can return to work
» Posting awareness information and other relevant signage
» Interacting with County Public Health and Emergency Management offices and these office’s jurisdiction during a pandemic.
