Free Movie Night Event at Bandshell Park Features Adventure Film ‘Hook’

City of Ames issued the following announcement on August 30.

Ames Parks and Recreation Department will be showing the movie “Hook” on Friday, Sept. 3, at Bandshell Park at the corner of Sixth Street and Duff Avenue. The movie will begin at approximately 8 p.m. “Hook” is a 1991 adventure film that presents as a sequel to J. M. Barrie's 1911 novel “Peter and Wendy,” focusing on an adult Peter Pan who has forgotten all about his childhood.

Movie goers should bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be shown indoors at the Ames City Auditorium starting at 8:15 p.m. Please check the Ames Parks and Recreation Facebook page or www.amesparkrec.org for updates.

The Parks and Recreation Department manages 38 parks and offers approximately 180 athletic, aquatic, instructional, and wellness programs.
