City of Ames recently issued the following announcement on September 16.
The City of Ames Dog Park, 605 Billy Sunday Road, will close for annual maintenance starting Wednesday, Sept. 22. Annual maintenance includes spraying broadleaf weeds, aerating, fertilizing the turf, and other facility maintenance needs.
The Ames Dog Park will reopen once maintenance activities have been completed. Staff anticipates reopening the park the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 24, weather dependent.
The Parks and Recreation Department manages 38 parks and offers approximately 180 athletic, aquatic, instructional, and wellness programs. Indoor programs are offered year-round at the Community Center, Ames/ISU Ice Arena, and Municipal Pool.
