City of Gilbert issued the following announcement on September 20.
Over the last week the following projects were completed to make Main St safe for traffic:
- The final layer of asphalt was placed
- Light poles were installed by Alliant Energy
- Pavement markings, sidewalk crossings, and parking areas were placed
- The majority of clean up work was completed by contractors
- Temporary stop signs were placed until permanent signs can be installed
- The sidewalk on the east side of Main St and First St will be poured
- Permanent stop signs will be installed
- The brick pavers and landscaping in the islands will be completed at a later date.
