02/07/22
Officer received three requests for past accident reports. All reports were sent with the payment. Officer filled all requests and sent the information to the insurance company.
Officer had an oil sending unit go out while on patrol. One call to Hoyt Boys Repair and the police car was fixed and back on the road in 15 minutes. Thanks to Blaine for getting us right back out to “Protect and Serve” our great community.
Officer did monthly siren testing and found the siren behind the Mexican Restaurant was not in working order. Officer informed dispatch and will call it in to be serviced.
Officer assisted a Madrid resident with signing witness to a life insurance policy in their retirement account.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical call at Casey’s. Patient was transported to the Boone County Hospital.
Officer received a call from a Madrid resident having a panic attack at work and was asking for a ride home. Officer checked back with him after he cleared from the above emergency medical call and he had already made it home.
02/08/22
Officer did school patrol at the elementary school after receiving a complaint of a silver Chevy Cruse driving too fast.
Officer assisted a Madrid resident with unlocking a door to let workers in to measure carpet that needed replaced, after the resident called and stated that he forgot to leave his door open.
Officer spoke to a Madrid resident who gave information on a hit and run accident that occurred over the weekend at the Flat Tire. Officer was given a license plate number and a vehicle description.
Officer was called to East 1st Street by an owner of a house that he just purchased and was renovating. The plumbers located several paper towels filled with a white substance hidden in the vents. The powder turned out to be baking soda.
Officer was notified by the Boone County Attorney’s Office of a drug case that may be going to trial next Tuesday.
Officer was dispatched to Git N Go for a report of a woman who left the store without paying for merchandise. Officer was unable to locate the suspect vehicle. After a brief investigation officer was able to identify the woman and submit for a warrant for her arrest for Theft 5th Degree.
02/09/22
Officer was called to Greater Love Ministry for a customer being combative. Officer spoke to the staff and stated that the female was upset about the two-bag maximum because she wanted more free items. Officer served her with a trespass warning and explained that she would be arrested if she came back onto the property. She stated that she understood.
Officer was dispatched to the Madrid Home for an emergency medical call. Boone County Ambulance called for MercyOne to transport the patient to Des Moines. Officer secured the landing zone in the cull-da-sac just off of Southern Prairie Drive and landed the helicopter.
Officer was dispatched to an emergency medical in the 400 block of Fairview Drive.
Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of West 2nd Street for a verbal dispute between a father and his juvenile daughter. The father agreed to let the daughter stay at a friend’s house, for the evening, to calm down.

Officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Milwaukee Street for a subject having a panic attack. Officer spoke to the subject and then called out Boone County Ambulance after the patient requested transport to Mary Greeley in Ames.
02/11/22
Officer responded to the Madrid Home for a fire alarm. The alarm was found to be false and the fire department was disregarded.
Officer stopped into the elementary to have lunch with 1st and 2nd grade students.
Officer spoke with a concerned parent reference their 9-year-old and a classmate getting into a verbal and ultimately physical altercation in school. Officer followed up with the school, who were already well aware of the incident and were handling disciplinary action with the student.
02/12/22
Officer witnessed a vehicle strike a dog at large in the 100 Block of E. 1st Street. The officer assisted with information exchange between the motorist and dog owner. The owner was advised to ensure the animal is kept on property.
Officer received a call regarding performing a welfare check, after speaking with the subject it was determined it was more of a family issue than needing a welfare check and the subject decided it would be best to handle the issue another way.
Officer received a call from ADT about a false alarm that occurred in the city.
