City of Ames park staff have restored water to all park restrooms. Restrooms will be cleaned and sanitized once per day. Due to the susceptibility of damage from below freezing temperatures, water to drinking fountains will be restored by May 6, weather dependent.
“Following winter, we know everyone is excited to get out and be more active in the parks. Opening the restrooms is a service that patrons look forward to every spring,” said Joshua Thompson, Parks and Facilities Superintendent.
Residents using the parks are encouraged to report any water leaks they observe in restrooms, as well as any park maintenance issues. Information can be reported on the Ames on the Go mobile app, called into the Community Center at 515.239.5350, emailed through the Parks and Recreation website at www.amesparkrec.org, or left as comments via Facebook at “Ames Parks and Recreation” or “City of Ames,” or on Twitter at “City of Ames.”
