North Dakota Avenue Construction Continues

North Dakota Avenue from Toronto Street to the Union Pacific railroad tracks will be closed to traffic on Monday, Oct. 10, weather permitting, as reconstruction of North Dakota Avenue continues. Sidewalks will also be closed. This reconstruction project will address existing pavement deficiencies, utility repair, and necessary improvements to pedestrian facilities that do not meet the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The City has contracted with Con-Struct Inc. to complete this project, which includes pavement removal from Toronto Street to the Union Pacific railroad tracks, followed by work on underground improvements. This stage of the project is expected to take three to four weeks to complete.

All are encouraged to take note of this construction activity and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. Pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.

For more information, contact Hafiz Ibrahim, Civil Engineer, at Abdelhafiz.ibrahim@cityofames.org or 515.239.5245. For general construction updates, go to www.CityOfAmes.org/Construction
