On February 22, 2022, the Madrid Police Department executed a search warrant in the 200 block of South State Street in Madrid. During the search narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia were located. Officers arrested Jon Frederick Graham and Jodi Jean Zander both for several drug-related charges.
On November 29, 2022, both subjects plead guilty to felony drug-related charges stemming from the case. Graham pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a class C felony and Zander pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine, Third Offense, a class D felony. Both subjects were ordered to pay high dollar fines, were put on two years of supervised probation, and have to follow strict guidelines set by the court or risk being revoked.
This case was investigated after the Madrid Police Department received several complaints of toxic narcotic smells and smoke contaminating a downtown business that had dozens of children in and out of. “The safety of our children is one of our top priorities” stated Chief Tasler.
Anyone with information on any drug-related criminal activity in the city, please contact the Madrid Police Department immediately. “2022 was a good year for the good guys”, stated Tasler. “One Madrid resident was sentenced to 20 years in prison for felony methamphetamine charges and now this. We are working on other cases as well so if you see or smell anything suspicious, please contact us so that we can continue to keep the citizens of Madrid safe.”
