Ames Today

Brookridge Avenue between Sixth and Ninth streets will be closed beginning Monday, June 19, to begin pavement removal and continued work on underground utilities improvements, followed by paving operations. Sidewalks will also be closed. Please follow the posted detour route.

The City of Ames has contracted with Shekar Engineering and subcontractor Iowa Earth Works for this project, which is expected to take four to five weeks to complete.

Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are encouraged to take note of this construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time to detour around the work zone. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling near construction zones. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
