Iowa State women’s tennis earns two singles wins at Drake Invite

The Iowa State women's tennis team secured two singles wins during the Drake Invite in Des Moines on Saturday. Valeska San Martin Ramirez and Gabriella Kellner each claimed a victory for the Cyclones.

San Martin started the day by defeating Maja Dodik of Drake, 7-6 (5), 2-6, [10-6], before losing to Ethel Li from North Dakota in her second match. Kellner dropped her opening match but recovered with a win against Nebraska-Omaha's Katelynn Kock, 6-4, 6-3. Teammates Gabriela Felix and Kira Smith were unable to secure wins in their singles matches.

The Cyclones are scheduled to continue play at the Drake Invite on Sunday morning.
