East Lincoln Way, from Teller Avenue (580th Street) to Potter Avenue (590th Street), will close to traffic on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, weather permitting, and remain closed for three to four months. The closure is necessary to begin work on the next phase of new utilities for the Prairie View Industrial Center.
Keller Excavating is nearing completion on Teller Avenue work and will continue the deep trenching operation along East Lincoln Way. With trenching extending as deep as 25 feet during winter road conditions, this closure is necessary to ensure both the safety of the workers on site and the traveling public. UPDATE: Teller Avenue will reopen for north and south traffic on Friday, Jan. 6.
This phase of the project will include installation of water main and sanitary sewer along the north side of East Lincoln Way from Teller Avenue (580th Street) to Potter Avenue (590th Street). Although roads will be closed during trenching operations, access will be maintained for residents.
Motorists are encouraged to be aware of construction in the area and to allow for extra travel time or consider using alternative routes. Those who use the signed detour route should follow posted speed limits. Speeds along East Lincoln Way will be reduced during active construction.
