City of Huxley issued the following announcement on July 23.

Residents: The City has finished its yearly inspection of trees that overhang the street and/or sidewalk.  If you receive a notice/letter, your property has branches that need trimmed.

Huxley Code of Ordinance 151.03:  Trees shall be kept trimmed to  a clearance height of 14 feet for branches overhanging a street and 8 feet for branches overhanging a sidewalk.

It is the homeowners responsibility to trim these trees and to dispose of the branches.  To assist homeowners with the disposal of branches, the City will have FREE branch drop-off days on Saturday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 29th at the Public Works facility located at 601 Oak Blvd from 8 am to 12 noon.  Branches can also be dropped off Monday through Friday between 8 am and 4 pm from August 1st to August 31st.

Trees must be trimmed by Monday, August 31st, 2020.  If trees have not been trimmed by this date, the City will trim the trees and assess a fee to the homeowner.
