Reception Set for Outgoing City Councilman

City of Ames recently issued the following announcement.

A reception to honor outgoing Ames City Council Member David Martin will be held prior to the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14. The event will be held in the front foyer of the City Council Chambers, second floor of City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. Light refreshments will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m. The City Council meeting will start at 6 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend.

Martin was first elected as the Ward 3 City Council member on Nov. 7, 2017, and began his first term in 2018. Martin did not run for re-election and is relocating to Bismarck, ND, where his husband recently began a new job. During Martin’s tenure, he represented the City of Ames on numerous community boards and commissions.

The final City Council meeting of 2021 is a Climate Action Planning workshop scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21. The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022.
