Josh Roberts, RN, Maxwell Clinic, was named Story County Medical Center’s DAISY Award honoree on May 6th, 2022. There were nine nurses recognized at this event. This is the second year Story Medical has awarded the honor.
Josh has been an RN with SCMC since 2018. His nomination came from a patient that drives a great distance to see him and the provider. Josh went above and beyond to make sure the patient had the medication she needed when it was accidentally spilled and not able to be used. Josh kept advocating for the patient with her insurance company and they finally agreed to pay for the refill. His calm nature is compelling. He genuinely cares about the well-being of his patients. He also has a fun personality which helps to keep them calm and brighten their days.
Other nominees recognized at the May 6th event included Acute Care RNs Randi Jones and Trixie Barger; Acute Care Patient Care Coordinator/RN Barb Hansen; Emergency Room RNs Jeff Helbing and K.C. Tuttle; Outpatient Care RNs Bekka Hanson and Christina Goodlaxson; and Nevada Clinic RN Amy Clark. All nominations were filled with gratitude for the compassionate care these nurses provide.
Story County Medical Center has recognized nurses with the internationally-known DAISY Award since 2021. Nominations for the DAISY Award can be made throughout the year. Nomination forms and submission boxes are located throughout the facility. Nominations can be made by patients, their family members, caretakers, and community members.
