Many City of Ames departments and divisions will be closed during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave., will both be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, in recognition of Thanksgiving.
The Community Center in City Hall will be closed on Thanksgiving, but open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25. The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be open on Thanksgiving for public skate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ice arena will also be open for public skate from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25. CyRide buses will not operate on Thanksgiving. Additionally, CyRide will operate a break schedule from Saturday, Nov. 19, through Sunday, Nov. 27, while Iowa State University classes are not in session. All shaded trips noted in the normal school year schedules are not operated at these times and some full bus routes do not operate. For more CyRide schedule information, visit www.cyride.com
The Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Center Ave., will be closed on Thanksgiving. The administrative offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 25, but the tipping floor will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
