Teller Avenue Closed Beginning Monday

Teller Avenue north of East Lincoln Way will close to traffic beginning Monday, Nov. 28, weather permitting, to begin work on the next phase of construction for new utilities for the Prairie View Industrial Center.

This phase of the project will include installation of water main and sanitary sewer along the north side of East Lincoln Way from Teller Avenue (580th Street) to Potter Avenue (590th Street). Teller Avenue will close for open trenching work necessary to place water main and sanitary sewer. This is anticipated to last three weeks. Once complete, East Lincoln Way from Teller to Potter avenues will close to continue trenching. The closure of Lincoln Way is tentatively scheduled to begin Jan. 2, 2023. The City of Ames has contracted with Keller Excavating for this work.

Due to safety concerns, roads will be closed during trenching operations, although residents and businesses will have access.

Motorists are encouraged to be aware of construction in the area and to allow for extra travel time or consider using alternative routes. Those who use the signed detour route should follow posted speed limits. Speeds along East Lincoln Way will be reduced during active construction.

Developed by Alliant Energy and the Ames Economic Development Commission (AEDC), in partnership with the City of Ames, Prairie View Industrial Center features approximately 1,200 acres located within the city limits of Ames. Prairie View offers a strategic location with convenient access to U.S. Highway 30 and Interstate 35 and an option for Union Pacific Railroad access.
