The Iowa State tennis team saw the duo of Stanislava Shulzhenko and Mari Paz Alberto Vilar advance to the Blue Draw Final at the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic on Saturday in Ames, Iowa.

The tournament is structured with two draws, where each school enters four players paired into two groups. Each pair faces another school's pair in a doubles match, followed by singles matches against the same opponents. Advancement is determined by winning at least two out of three matches in this format.

Shulzhenko and Alberto Vilar reached the final after defeating Auburn's Ava Esposito and Alice Battesti 8-6 in doubles. In singles play, Alberto Vilar lost to Esposito 6-3, 6-4. Shulzhenko secured the spot in the championship by overcoming Battesti in a close match that ended 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5).

Another Iowa State pair, Ashlee Narker and Julia Camblor, were eliminated from the Gray Draw semifinals after losing to Georgia Tech's Taly Licht and Olivia Carneiro. Despite the loss, Narker improved her fall singles record to 2-0 with a win over Carneiro, finishing 6-4, 7-5.

The Cyclones will continue play on Sunday during the final day of competition.
