Iowa State and Kansas State played to a 2-2 draw in Manhattan, Kansas, on Thursday evening, concluding the regular season for both teams. The Cyclones finished the year with a record of 4-9-4 overall and 1-8-2 in Big 12 play.

Kansas State took the lead midway through the first half with a goal from Andra Mohler, assisted by Jayce Woodward and Rilyn Rintoul. Early in the second half, Rintoul added another goal for the Wildcats with help from Allison Marshall and Chloe Dillbick, giving K-State a 2-0 advantage.

Iowa State responded with two unanswered goals in the second half. Morgan Goodman scored off a free kick following a Kansas State foul outside the box to cut the deficit to one. Taylor Spitzer tied the game after receiving a cross from Gili Johnson that deflected into the net. "Our fight was really impressive and I think people have seen that fight from us so often this season. I'm really proud of our women, they did a really great job," said head coach Matt Fannon.

Spitzer led Iowa State with four shots while Ella Zimmerman had three attempts, including two on target. Goalkeeper Kasey Cannistraro played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves.

The match statistics were close: Kansas State held a slight edge in total shots (14 to Iowa State's 12), but ISU led in saves (4-3) and corner kicks (6-4). The Wildcats committed more fouls than Iowa State, totaling 22 compared to ISU's 10.

Kansas State’s Maddie Sibbing made three saves but allowed two goals during the contest. Both teams were unable to find a winner in the closing minutes as defenses held firm.

The result marks Iowa State’s second consecutive season ending with a tie.
